'til someone gets hurt
i spent most of my morning at work doing payroll. then i spent the rest of the day working in dispatch. i got one of the most amusing calls while i was in the dispatch center today.
a lady called in for help because she had locked her keys in the car, with the car running, and had left it in drive. luckily, her driveway was on a hill, so she and her friend were (sort of) able to push on the front of the car to keep it from driving itself into the garage. we sent an officer and while waiting she called back twice asking us to hurry up because it was just two women trying to hold back the vehicle.
we had a few good laughs at their expense and joked about calling the press. stupid people make my day sometimes.

i talked to my mom about teaching last night. yeah, i know that i hate children, but man...summers off. i am thinking about checking into teaching certificate programs. i suppose if i taught high school aged kids, there would be less chance of me mangling them or something.
i don't want to be a teacher really, but i don't know what i want. i hate all of this job searching stuff. everything that i consider has a "i could do this for one year" sentence attached to it. i've decided to stop looking for office work and start concentrating on looking for dispatch positions. i don't know if this is a good idea or not. at least it's an idea. i really need to get going on my job search...pick up the pace and whatnot. my lease starts june first, and i'd like to move in as soon after that as possible, but won't move until i've secured a job. bah. *sigh*
